When people think of a slip-and-fall, they may not at first realize how serious these types of accidents can be. After all, in many cases, a slip-and-fall could mean a few bruises or, in the worst case, a broken bone.
Proving a slip-and-fall accident is the fault of another person, or business, can be challenging.
When people go out and about to shop, the last thing they expect to happen is to come home with a serious injury like a broken bone, soft tissue damage or, in the worst cases, even a spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury.
While the following story didn't occur here in Wisconsin, the circumstances are still important because any slip and fall in the country could cause similar, or even worse, harm to a victim. The case is out of the Quad Cities in Iowa, and it dates back to January 2010.
